Shenandoah Valley Golf Club
Shenandoah Valley Golf Club offers to very exciting courses (Old & Titus Courses) and exceptional hospitality from the management team and staff, top-tier food and beverage service (highlighted by the popular Smashburger). The fairways on both courses were in excellent condition with commendable leaf management - for fall play. Practice facilities are solid, though limited to mats during this visit, and a new short-game area is set to open in Spring 2026. The greens, while well-maintained, showed some signs of wear due to their small size and high foot traffic. They get a lot of traffic. Bunkers were mostly consistent and pretty easy to get out of. Reviewers appreciated the full-course experience that goes beyond just golf, with special recognition given to staff. On the course itself, players found a well-designed layout, emphasizing precision over power. Strategic challenges come from narrow fairways, small greens, and tough roughs rather than an abundance of bunkers.
On the Old Course, several holes—such as 4, 9, 15, and 18—stood out for their visual appeal and thoughtful design, offering both risk-reward opportunities and memorable finishes. Holes like 2 and 6 presented added difficulty with tight lines, elevation changes. Overall, the Old Course blends hospitality, challenge, and scenic beauty into a cohesive, enjoyable golf experience. The Titus Course has large greens. The greens were in very good shape. We fixed ball marks but unfortunately, that is common with many public courses. Fairways were in great shape. The bunkers were very good. You’ll love the opening par 5 slight doglet left hole. Wide, slopping fairway on either side! Then, cross the road to get to Hole 4, a dogleg right that narrows because your out of bounds if you push it right. Holes 4 to 12 are taken from the Old Links course, creating an exceptional experience. A most memorable par 5, Hole 11 stretches along a small creek on the left and a hillside to the right. And, a most enjoyable finishing hole - going for it in to isn’t impossible.
